Research interests

Topological materials were what pulled me into condensed-matter theory and are still the focus of my research. In particular, I have been working with topological superconductors, attempting to understand what makes a system topological and what the properties of such systems are. The same ideas, of course, generalize to a much more expansive class of materials where well-trodden concepts such as band theory can be combined with newer developments into a whole field full of incredibly diverse physics. During my doctoral studies, my work centred mostly on applying these ideas to Yu-Shiba-Rusinov states and variations thereof -- broadly speaking, systems consisting of idealised impurities on a substrate.
